Fortnightly update 32: 15.02.2021 to 28.02.2021
In this blog series, I share my fortnight-to-fortnight triumphs (and failures) as a writer. Despite all the ups and downs, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I know I was a few days late with this post, but I was off getting some fresh air.
Flash fiction and short stories
I’m currently submitting flash fiction and short stories to online magazines and such for publication. This fortnight, I drafted the story I mentioned in my last post, and I’m pretty damn happy with it. Druggy, culty, Lovecraftian vibes. That took up most of my time, but I also managed to submit a 1k-word story to a competition, which is nice.
I write scripts for Frontier Media, a media production company specialising in YouTube. Our two largest channels are The Front and Geetsly’s, and while I’ve written for Geetsly’s in the past, I mostly write for The Front and our new, smaller channel The Braved. Three videos for which I wrote the scripts were published this fortnight.
I write 280-character stories using various writing prompt hashtags on Twitter. This fortnight, I got back on the Twitter horse with three decent little pieces.
The fighters scramble and warships turn their guns. But this will not help us against what rises from its Precambrian slumber. Even those who pray to it will be tongued up by the thousands. Better to die now, to go out on your own terms, than to see what God really is.
Unfortunately for Brian, his irrational fear that someone was waiting under his bed to murder him was actually totally rational. He just wished he could have delivered his wife one last “I told you so” before his throat was slit.

Overall, it was a pretty standard fortnight. The only other news is that I got RIGHT off that Facebook train. The UI is terrible, and the entire platform makes me feel like I have insects inside my skull. So, honestly, probably no one is going to read these posts anymore, but that’s fine. It’s more for myself anyway.
If you did read this, thanks ❤
